Leagues

Costa Blanca Villas’ Mantarraya Golf Club has a number of organized leagues.  Some start as early as the middle of November until the end of April. 
 

All of the leagues are great ways to meet new people whether you are an owner, full-time resident or here for the season or a visitor.  It’s a great way to expand your social circle and build long lasting friendships.  Although well organized, thanks to the volunteer organizers (who are made up of both owners and/or seasonal  renters, many who have been coming here for years), all the leagues are casual and welcoming to all skill levels.  Whether a low handicapper or a beginner, you will always be welcomed for a great day of golf followed up by dinner and an evening of socializing at one of the many local restaurants. ​ All leagues have seen an increase in popularity and participation.

Men’s Day League

​

• It has been in existence since 2006 - Current convenor is: Denis Rainville.

• The Men’s league runs Wednesdays from early November to late April.

• Anyone is welcome to join by sending their name, handicap.

• Invitations are normally sent on Thursdays with a replay required no later than the following Monday for play the following Wednesday.

• Men’s day handicaps are kept for Men’s day play.

• The weekly cost to participate is $5 plus the regular green fees if not a member of Mantarraya golf club.

• Players play their own ball, and prizes are paid out.  Depending on the number of participants, there could be prizes for low gross, low net, low team gross, low team net, and hidden hole prizes. 

• The idea is to have fun, meet new people, and play golf.

• There are usually around 65 players at peak times during the season.

 

There is also a "Green Jacket Match Play Tournament" associated with the "Men's Day" and  a "Team Match Play Tournament", please see the tournament page for details.

Ladies’ League

 

• A Ladies League is held on usually on Thursdays from the middle of January until first of April.

• Handicaps are not required to participate in the league.

• Variety of formats (best ball, single etc,) are used and decided the day of.

• Supper after the round is organized once a month.

​​​​Mixed Social League

​

• The Mixed Social League is held on Sundays from the first week of January until third week of April.

• A supper is held each Sunday after the round, at one of the local restaurants.

​Hackers League

​

• Tees off around 8:00 am every Tuesday and Thursday throughout the year.

• Made up of mostly recreational golfers of all levels from across the area.

• Out to have fun and socialize.
