Property Renovations
Between 2024 and 2025, a total of 25 properties were sold—10 of them in the current year alone. In that same period, beyond minor renovations such as house painting, window and door replacements, driveway extensions, pathway tiling, and solar panel installations, 25 major renovation projects were undertaken by homeowners within Costa Blanca Villas.
These significant upgrades reflect the strong commitment of both new and long-time owners to the continued improvement of the community. The major projects have included substantial property extensions, kitchen renovations or expansions, the addition or enlargement of carports, upper and lower patios, bedroom and office spaces—and notably, the construction of 12 new property residential swimming pools.
While some homes are between 15 and 20 years old, owners clearly recognize the value of living in Costa Blanca Villas. Their investments are not only modernizing and enhancing individual homes but also contributing to the overall appeal and value of the entire development.
Local contractors are available to assist with renovations and repairs to properties. These contractors are very familiar with the various house models within Costa Blanca Villas and can provide advice and examples of the expansion potential for various homes. They are very familiar with and can assist with the approval process required by both Decameron and the municipality.
Hardware and construction materials are easily accessible. Within 10 minutes of Costa Blanca Villas, you'll find Novey, a national hardware chain, along with several smaller local hardware stores in Río Hato. If you can't find what you need there, a 30-minute drive gives you access to a wider range of specialty tile shops and larger hardware and building supply warehouses, including Do-It Center, Melo Home Center, Carbone, Cochez, Hopsa, and Implosa.
For anything not available within 30 minutes, Costa Verde—just an hour away—offers even more options. And in the rare case you still can’t find what you’re looking for, Panama City, only 90 minutes away, has everything you could possibly need.
For property renovations a permit from the municipality of Anton will be required. Anton will require approval from Decameron before processing your application. If you follow the proper procedure, it is not a difficult process. Decameron meets weekly to review these requests. Decameron has an Architect on site who assists with the review. The review by Decameron of renovation proposals ensures the maintenance of community standards, protect home values, enforce legal rules, and ensure renovations are safe, reasonable, and considerate of neighbors. They also ensure the proposals are structurally sound and follow local building codes or permit requirements.
As previously noted, an approval letter from Decameron is required by the municipality for approval of construction projects for the Costa Blanca Golf & Villas Residential Complex. For your project proposal review, the plans (drawings) must be sent digitally, sent to the property administration for review. Once reviewed, the commission will email the results with comments. If any corrections are needed, the project must be resubmitted digitally for review or validation. When approved, the property administration will send your notification and the owner or their designee can pick up the signed "approval letter" at the villa coordination offices and present to the municipality of Anton.
